
Susan Stevens received a bachelor's in comparative literature from the University of Redlands (California)
and a master's in creative writing from Northern Arizona University, where she studied with the late
Jim Simmerman. She taught composition, literature, and creative writing at Eastern Arizona College, where
she also directed the Visiting Writers Series, and composition and literature at Yavapai College, Austin
Peay State University, Georgia Military College, and Augusta State University. Earlier, she left a
civil service position with the Department of Defense to teach high school English on the Navajo reservation.
Her poetry has appeared in
Seems, Northern Arizona Review, the George Wright Society's Forum Journal, The
Reach of Song, the Agnes Scott College Writers Festival Magazine, and elsewhere. She is currently an
editor for the
Engineer Professional Bulletin and
Maneuver Support Magazine at Fort Leonard
Wood, Missouri.
