Snow Moon
by Mimi Ferraro
It happens suddenly I’m cleaning the room grandfather clock slumbers face broken
gapped tooth neon sign spirals broken message Christmas decorations
riot
Time flickers spots like a snow moon
whisper voices cantata skylight opens room perfumes redolent rose lilac letters
dust damask to the touch music box pearls & I arc setting sun spun gold halo
flame aureole speck cerise fuchsia crash party stars spider thread dimensions
chime solar winds shimmer as meridians whine grandfather clock no longer weary
with time swings pendulous head hour hand spins crazily backward behind
iris/eyelid eye I am light so light as if I never left dropped rag at my feet outside
daylight burns away dusk returning
