My God by Caroline Johnson God has brought everything but fire on the golf course tonight. I feel the wind, I see the frozen water, I walk on the earth. Yet the sun, a small ray in the sky, peers out from gray clouds. I walk a circular path among houses, hills, and blacktop. In the summer, there are Great Blue herons and white egrets. In the summer it is too crowded to walk. I think of all the people in the world praying to one God, right now, all at the same time. Is it their God? Or ours? Is it my God, or no one’s?
