Others wander
Molested
Tested
Consider things
Too late
By drugs and alcohol
We glisten
Listening 
For our always overdue calls
In the barroom churches
And the ballroom cathedrals
Finalized
After climbing
Spiraled stairways
That lead us to narrowed halls
Where we discover elevators
Always moving always
Up and down
Practicing the ever and all ways changing
Elements of style
That drive
Some of us wild
Others mad
Our minds saliva
Our names Ishmael
And our souls into
Inventions
Of our own
